Hey Cincy! Any 5 way chili lovers out there?

I moved to Forest Park with my parents when I was a teen.

Since then moved to Mad Co Il.

I missed Cincy style chili so much I buy a 24 pack twice a year!

sorry never heard of it we make our own here, always using at least three different chillis. to get the complex flavor that chilli con carne should have.

Cincy chili is the bomb. Every time I go there to watch my Brownies dismantle the Bungholes, I make sure I grab some.

I prefer my chili with no cinnamon.

3/4pound ground turkey
1cup chopped onion, divided
3cloves garlic, minced
1can (8 ounces) reduced-sodium tomato sauce
3/4cup water
1to 2 tablespoons chili powder
1tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1to 2 teaspoons cider vinegar
1teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2teaspoon ground allspice
1/2teaspoon paprika
1bay leaf
1/8teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
Salt and black pepper
8ounces hot cooked spaghetti
1/2cup (2 ounces) shredded fat-free Cheddar cheese
1/2cup red kidney beans, rinsed and drained

It's Cincinnati, Ohio Chili. For those that don't know.

Since you're used to Mexican style chili, you would probably laugh at Cincinnati chili.

Chili is meant to be spicy, not sweet. Cincy chili is for little girls.

@Forestcupp, the recipe from Swoll1980 looks interesting I think with the addition of 3 or more types of fresh chilis it would be flavorful.

OMG I was born & Raised in cincy and there are quite a few foods I miss from there since I now live in Washington.

Frischs Big Boy,Larosa's Pizza, Gold Star Chili, skyline chili, and White castles, Graeters & UDF Home made ice cream you won't find any of those out here...thank goodness for care packages from home. Oh yeah and this site: http://www.cincinnatifavorites.com/
