Nevermind, I sorted my own problem, was an issue with an extended partion, but everything is sweet now :D
I was using the live cd when I was trying to resize the partition, how would I go about getting info for my first hdd? (the one with all the boot files)
Hey everyone, me again. This time, I was playing around with g-parted, and for some reason beyond my logic, I could not resize my 9.2gb ext4 partion to anything higher than what it originally was....
Are you talking about the actual boot splash? Or the background that you can get when you are in the grub menu?
Yeah, Reinstalling the restricted drivers now. Thanks heaps, really. I think I was playing around a bit with start up manager before I went onto Regnum Online.. Then came the hard restart and yeah...
Wow! It worked!!! Thanks heaps! Really, wow... I don't know how I could ever repay you! :D!!!!!!!!
Using startupmanager?
Oh. I was root when I did it so would it matter if I left them out? Heres the output:
root@ubuntu:/home/ubuntu# mount /dev/sdb2 /mnt
root@ubuntu:/home/ubuntu# cd /mnt
root@ubuntu:/mnt# cp...
Yeah.. It would be. But I spent half a day and most of my bandwith setting it up so.. :D
:o Is that safe to do inside the live cd?
Is it an actual theme you've downloaded? And have you double-checked to make sure you have enabled it in startupmanager?
I'm pretty sure I have, but heres the output anyways:
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo umount /dev/sda2
umount: /dev/sda2: not mounted
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo e2fsck -yfv /dev/sda2
e2fsck 1.41.4...
Did you manage to get windows working?
Sorry about the delay... here are the results:

Yes I have tried booting in recovery mode, thats how I found out the error.
Heres the output that I got:
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo e2fsck -yfv /dev/sdb2
e2fsck 1.41.4 (27-Jan-2009)

Is it possible that theres a backup of some boot files somewhere..?
in the terminal type:
cd /boot/grub
then:
gedit menu.lst
then scroll down to the bottom of the page and add this line of code:
title Windows NT/2000/XP (loader)
Okay, I've tried using the partition manager to check/fix the ubuntu partition, and it still hangs on the same error during boot. Any more ideas?
BUMP !!! o.O
Okay,thank you. :D
Downloading desktop cd now :P Thanks for the help, I'll talk back here once its done in an hour :S
And the boot partition number is the number that is given to you when you enter the command "find /boot/grub/stage1"
Okay, when you enter the certain commands that I gave you into the terminal, you get an output, eg:
Type "find /boot/grub/stage1". You'll get a response like "(hd0)" or in my case "(hd0,3)". Use...
I can't access files on my ubuntu 9.04 partion, it just politely tells me that it is ext4 and unsupported :D
